Idlenaut

Everything you need to write about the game. All art here may be used in coverage of Idlenaut. All screenshots and footage are captured from an alpha build and are subject to change.

Description

An incremental space-industry game set in a simulated star system. Extract resources, fabricate goods, and build automated Space Force fleets to defend your planets from enemy sieges. Ascend to a newly generated star system and keep your permanent upgrades.

Idlenaut is played in real time across a top-down, procedurally generated star system, and every part of its economy is visibly simulated. Cargo ships fly their routes, extraction ships haul space rock and particles home, and a Dyson swarm assembles around the star one sail at a time.

Features

  • Industry. Per-planet production chains of miners, refiners and fabricators, powered by solar, wind, coal, steam, nuclear and orbital solar plants.
  • Ships that actually fly. Transport, extraction and discovery ships fly curved orbital paths between the planets.
  • The Dyson swarm. Solar sails launched into rings around the star fire orbital rays at the planets they face.
  • Threats. Enemy carriers arrive in waves; automated Space Force fleets hunt, dogfight and regroup without piloting.
  • Ascend. Quantum credits buy permanent upgrades that carry into a newly generated star system.
